Principal's Message
Notes from Our Principal
Welcome to a brand new school year. All of us at Woodsboro want to make this a successful year for your child. Your active support and cooperation, combined with our best professional efforts, will ensure academic success for your child.

It is a privilege to be appointed your new principal and I look forward to an exciting year working with your children, you, and our highly qualified staff. We invite you to be involved in Woodsboro Elementary School. There are many opportunities to be involved through volunteerism; in the classrooms, library, office, and work room. It is the spirit of cooperation and collaboration that I have already observed that we want to share with you.

The goal of our school is to provide each student with a challenging and rigorous curriculum appropriate to his/her academic level. We believe every child can achieve academic success. To this end, every child will be provided with quality instructional experiences which recognize, support, and maintain high expectations for all students.

The Woodsboro Mission is: Our mission at Woodsboro Elementary School is to provide a high quality educational program that encompasses challenging state content standards, encourages the mastery of basic skills, facilitates the use of technology, and fosters the development of critical thinking and effective communication in all students. In an environment where caring and responsible citizenship is modeled and taught, it is our fundamental goal to instill in all students a desire for life-long learning.

During these financially difficult times, we are often asked by parents, "How can I help?" Here is one ways that doesn't cost money and benefits students.

Every year our school district can gain an additional $1 million or more from the State of California simply by improving school attendance.

How does this make a difference? The State of California funds school districts based on student attendance. Average Daily Attendance (ADA) determines the revenue that a school district receives.

Parents can help by:
1. Making sure that children are in school when they are not sick;
2. Scheduling doctor's appointments or family trips during non-school hours if at all possible.

This will help our school district capture lost revenue. If a student is in school even a few minutes a day, the school district can collect a full day's ADA revenue from the State. If a student is not in school at all, our district collects $0 that day.

Help us make a difference and make "Every Day Count!"
