A Note From Your Principal

Welcome to Woodsboro!

Welcome to all Woodsboro families!

My name is Douglas Slonkosky, and I am proud to be the “new” Principal of Woodsboro Elementary School. My background includes serving as Principal at Glenknoll and Van Buren Elementary Schools in this District, as a Director for the San Bernardino County Schools Office, and prior to that, as a teacher in the Bear Valley Unified School District.

I am looking forward to a fun, productive, and exciting year at Woodsboro! This year I will be using our Blackboard Connect communication system for many important announcements. I will be sending out information to you on a regular basis by email, and for major events (or emergencies), by automated phone contact as well. Be sure to inform our office of any changes in your contact information.

Our weekly schedule remains the same as last year, with Early Release for Grades 1-6 every Wednesday. Grades 1-6 attend from 7:50 to 2:15, except for Wednesday, when school is out at 1:15. Pre-K and Kindergarten “Early Bees” students start at 7:50 am, and “Later Bee” students start at 9:30 am.

Our Woodsboro Website is currently being revised and renewed on a weekly basis.  It will be your source for up to the minute information about Woodsboro, our PTA, and all of our student programs and activities.

In closing, I want you to know that it is an honor and a privilege to serve as your child’s Principal and to be entrusted with your child’s safety and education. There are many exciting initiatives underway here at Woodsboro Elementary School and I look forward to meeting you and your students.

Sincerely, Douglas Slonkosky,

Woodsboro Principal
