  • School Site Council Nominations: The Woodsboro School Site Council (SSC) is a committee whose membership is equally comprised of parent/community members and school staff.  Parent or community representatives to the SSC are a contributing voice to the Single Plan for Student Achievement and are elected by their peers.  We currently have parent/community member positions open.  If you are interested, please stop by the office to pick up a nomination form today!
  • Hot Weather Guidelines:  Due to periods of hot weather forecast for the coming weeks, Woodsboro is preparing to follow the Hot Weather Guidelines published by the Orange County Department of Education. At Level B  students will be given extra rest and water breaks at PE and recess. At Level C, students with asthma or other heat related conditions will be kept indoors, and at Level D, all students will be kept indoors for recess, lunch, and PE.
  • See the Hot Weather Guidelines from the Orange County Department of Education posted under the Parent Info tab.
  • Peanut and Nut Allergy Tables: To help protect the health of students with nut and peanut allergies, Woodsboro has established “nut-free” tables at both Primary and Upper Grade lunches. We are directing students with Individual Health Plans that indicate specific allergies to sit at these tables. If your child has an allergy and it is not necessary for him or her to sit at the “nut-free” table, please send a signed letter to the principal with your wishes. We will inform the noon supervisors and attach the letter to the health plan.
  • School starts daily at 7:50 am. Plan to arrive between 7:30 and 7:45 to avoid traffic congestion. Students are supervised at the lunch tables.

Principal’s Message

Welcome to all new and returning Woodsboro families to another fun and exciting year at The Hive!! We have many programs and events planned for the coming year.  You will receive information each month in this PTA sponsored BEE Mail, so make sure the school office has your most current email address. We have had a very smooth opening of school this year, thanks to all the hard work of our staff and the help of our parents. Our school maintenance staff, Jose Serna and Eddie Hernandez, did an outstanding job of getting our school extra clean and ready this year!

For the safety of all of our students, please remember to follow all traffic regulations in our parking lot and on the streets around our school. Remember to only drop off and pick up students in the “valet” zone all the way in the parking lot. Teachers are on duty in this area, and will watch out for the safety of your children. Please use the crosswalk to cross Woodsboro and to bring your children in from the parking lot. Please observe speed limits at all times. Over the next several weeks we will have increased traffic enforcement before and after school. In addition to our shared concern for safety, we do not want anyone to receive an expensive traffic citation.

Douglas Slonkosky, Principal
